Cosmopolitan Magazine, the popular women’s lifestyle publication with a national U.S. readership of nearly 3 million people, voted Laguna Beach, California as one of the “Sexiest Places in the World” in its October, 2007, issue.

The story lists three destinations in the United States as top rated places for the “Ultimate Romantic Getaway” and Laguna Beach finished in the number two slot. Midcoast Maine was rated number one while the Great Smoky Mountains finished in third place.

The accolades by Cosmopolitan Magazine add to the city’s impressive list of honors it has received this year. Laguna Beach was named one of the Top 10 beaches in America this summer by msn.com and aol.com. Laguna Beach was named one of the best beaches in the Country for its water quality and was also ranked No. 1 in the United States in economic impact of the arts on a per capita basis which includes total spending by both organizations and audiences.
