Nobody likes to think about parking, and thankfully when visiting Laguna Beach, we’ve taken the stress out of worrying where to park by providing you various options. 

Please note that during our peak season, metered parking can fill up quickly, so we reccomend planning ahead and using one of our remote lots; Summer Breeze (off the 405 fwy) or ACT V (off of Laguna Canyon Road).

Non-Summer Season Routes (September 5, 2023 – June 28, 2024)

Coastal Route 

Free trolley service on Coast Highway between North Laguna/ Heisler Park, downtown, South Laguna/ Mission Hospital and Ritz Carlton in Dana Point.  Hours:  Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Frequency: Every 20-30 minutes.

Act V (Lot 16) Route

Park for free in Laguna Beach at Lot 16 (1900 Laguna Canyon Road) and ride a free trolley to downtown every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Frequency: Every 30 minutes.  Note: Lot 16 is closed to the public Monday-Friday starting Sept. 5, 2023.

Parking Meters in Laguna Beach

Daily metered street parking is available and enforced from 8am-9pm at all meters in the downtown area and until 7p.m. outside of downtown. Credit cards and quarters are accepted at all parking meters. Rates range from $3.00 – $5.90 per hour. Most meters have a 3-hour limit. Please note: if there is a time restriction on a meter, you must move your car to a new spot once you have reached the limit, you may not re-feed that meter.

What to do if the parking meter is broken:

  • To report a broken parking meter, please call the police non-emergency line at (949) 497-0701. Please provide the letter and number of the specific meter.
  • You can park at the broken meter for the designated time; however, please be advised that if our staff determines the meter is operational, you will be responsible for any citations issued.
  • For assistance with troubleshooting the parking app, making a one-time payment, or processing a card payment, please contact the Parking Division at (949) 497-0349 or the Administrative line at (949) 497-0306.

Handicap/Disabled Parking in Laguna Beach

If you have a handicap placard, you may park in an on-street parking space or any space in a public parking lot without having to pay (for up to 72 hours).

Parking lots are conveniently located near most areas and attractions in Laguna Beach. The daily parking lots are listed below. 

Recreational Vehicle (RV) Parking in Laguna Beach

The City’s municipal code allows an RV, regardless of size, to be parked on any city streets for a maximum of 5 hours in a 24-hour period, not limited to just Laguna Canyon Road. If parked at a meter(s), individual must pay for all meter(s) they are parked in front of. The Police Department can issue a RV parking permi, which is free, and allows RVs to park on any city street for up to 72 hours. Items needed for an RV parking permit include: Driver’s license, description of RV, license plate, and where the RV will be parked. In order to obtain the RV parking permit, individuals must visit the Police Department during normal business hours (8am to 5pm, 7 days a week). Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations in Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach offers a total of nine electric vehicle charging stations, including two in the Glenneyre parking structure (Lot 6), three in the Forest/Laguna Canyon parking area (Lot 11) and four in the Lumberyard lot (Lot 12). Users simply register with ChargePoint before leaving home. Then, rates are $3/hour to charge a vehicle for up to four hours. Electric vehicles do NOT have to purchase a separate parking pass from the pay station while parked at an electric vehicle charging station.
