The Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center has stepped up to preserve one of America’s most powerful and influential art forms, by providing a memorable OC haven for national touring blues legends.
Koch-Marshall Trio: A Soulful Fusion of Blues, Rock, and Groove
The Koch-Marshall Trio features guitar virtuoso Greg Koch, his son Dylan Koch on drums, and Hammond B3 master Toby Lee Marshall. At its core, the group embodies a blues sensibility, but their sound is an electrifying mix of rock, funk, jazz, and country, delivered with dynamic improvisation, infectious grooves,and a dash of humor.Greg Koch, a Milwaukee native, is revered as a “guitarist’s guitarist,” earning praise from legends like Joe Bonamassa and Guitar Player Magazine. Known for his 15 album releases, popular instructional videos, and signature Fishman pickups, Greg has captivated audiences worldwide with his fiery yet versatile style.
Dylan Koch, a powerhouse drummer inspired by greats like Bonham and Baker, honed his craft under Tom Brechtlein and toured with blues luminaries, gaining a WAMI nomination for Drummer of the Year.
Toby Lee Marshall’s B3 mastery infuses the trio with groovy bass lines, lush chords, and searing solos, delivering a sound that’s equal parts raw and refined. Together, the Koch-Marshall Trio promises a live performance bursting with energy, soul, and unbridled creativity.
