A babymoon is a fantastic way for expecting parents to unwind and reconnect before the little one arrives. With beautiful beaches, luxe spa options, and delicious dining, Laguna Beach offers the perfect escape for a babymoon. Here are a few suggestions for dining, pampering, and a romantic hotel stay, that will leave you feeling rested and ready for the excitement of becoming a new parent.
CELEBRATING A BABYMOON
MORNING
You can’t beat the Breakfast Buffet (and the views) at Las Brisas. Treat yourself to create-your-own omelets, waffles, eggs benedict, and more. Hey, you’re eating for two! 😉 Then walk it all off with some shopping for the little one at Little Freebirds and Little Bohemian, where you’re sure to find the cutest baby clothes and accessories.
Treat yourself (and the baby) to gelato at Gelato Paradiso, then hop on the free Laguna Beach Trolley, and head to Aquaterra Spa at Surf & Sand Resort. Spend the afternoon getting pampered with one of their luxurious treatments and enjoy their cozy relaxation areas. Soak in the peace and quiet before your little one comes! After your time at the spa, walk down to the beach and have a local photographer meet you there to take some maternity photos. The City of Laguna Beach can arrange for permits at some of the most picturesque spots along Laguna Beach’s coastline. Once you’re done with pictures, why not have a friendly sandcastle competition against each other? After all, sandcastles and parenting go hand in hand!
Evening
There’s nothing like some good ol’ American comfort food after an afternoon at the spa, and there’s no place better than The Lumberyard. We suggest their house-made pasta or chicken pot pie, but be sure to save room for dessert! Their famous “Lumberyard Hog Heaven Pie” is what dreams are made of!If you’re craving Mexican food, then the new South of Nick’s in Laguna Beach is a must. Their chips and salsa is craveworthy, and their Pork Carnitas is one of our favorite dishes in the entire world. Whatever you do, do not step foot out of there without trying their “Warm Butter Cake”. You (and the baby) will thank us later. 😉 And if baby’s craving pizza, as they often do, head to Neapolitan Pizzeria & Birreria, where you’ll find excellent wood-fired pizza, fresh salads, and the best meatballs and chicken wings in town! Their Il Mercato and Pesto Bacon pizzas are two of our favorites – and don’t forget to try their homemade tiramisu!
STAY
Cozy, charming, and picturesque, Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa is one of our favorite boutique hotels in Laguna Beach. One step onto their property and you’ll instantly fall in love. Plus, their beds are the perfect combination of fluffy and firm – giving you (and baby!) an optimal night’s sleep! Oh, and did we mention that Casa Laguna is adults only? Take advantage of it while you can!
