Biking Your Way Through Laguna Beach

Biking Your Way Through Laguna Beach

Every seasoned traveler will tell you that the best way to get a true sense of a city, is to park the car and explore the heart of a town by wandering its streets.

It is on the ground and out in the open air that you are able to immerse yourself to get the full experience of what a place has to offer. Here in Laguna Beach we encourage you to park the car and choose a different mode of transportation that lets you explore a bit faster than walking, but more intimately than a car — an electric bike. Follow along as we explore cliff vistas and weave inland to visit unique shops and alleys that give Laguna Beach that small town village charm.

Laguna Beach Electric Bike Rental

Starting in North Laguna Beach, enjoy the ample parking available at the Pavilion’s parking lot in Boat Canyon (available during summer months June-September). Walk a few blocks north on PCH to LAGUNA BEACH ELECTRIC BIKE RENTAL. They will set you up on an easy-to-ride electric bike that makes it a breeze to get around town.

Biking in Crescent Bay Park

Since you’re in north Laguna, don’t miss the opportunity to cross PCH and make a stop at CRESCENT BAY PARK where you can take in sweeping views of the Pacific out over seal rock and into one of Laguna’s most popular coves, Crescent Bay.

Biking in Heisler Park

Cruise down Cliff Drive for more ocean views as you weave your way around one of Laguna’s most picturesque neighborhoods. Take some time and stop off in HEISLER PARK. Enjoy views atop the cliffs overlooking some of Laguna’s most popular beaches including Diver’s Cove, Rockpile Beach and Main Beach.

Laguna Art Museum

Park your bike and take a break wandering through LAGUNA ART MUSEUM to look at their extensive collection of California art. All the art in the museum was created by California artists and reflects the life and history of the state.

Biking Down To Main Beach

Once you’ve refueled, hop on the bike and cruise down to MAIN BEACH to enjoy warm sand and people watching on the board walk.

Biking Browns Park Laguna Beach

Just south of Main Beach you’ll find a hidden and unmarked pathway, Brown’s Park, that leads to one of the city’s PUBLIC ART pieces: “Sight and Sound” by Raymond Persinger. This art piece is a poem written specifically for the site that is encased in 6-foot wooden panels that frame and overlook the Pacific.

Biking in Laguna Village

To explore a bit of the unique shopping, head one block south to the Laguna Village where you’ll find a mix of art, gifts and food. (Psst: Taco Tuesday at THE CLIFF is one of the best in town).

Biking in the HIP District

Heading further south on PCH, make sure to visit the HIP DISTRICT and the iconic “Greeter” statue in front of SAPPHIRE LAGUNA. You may even cross paths with the newest Laguna Beach Greeter, Michael, who will be busting out his dance moves under the watchful eye of the original greeter, Eiler Larson.

Biking To Woods Cove

We’ve made a lot of stops already, but the day is still young and you have so much yet to explore. Continue cruising down PCH and make a right on Diamond Street where you dead end at the entrance of WOOD’S COVE, a beach where you’ll find mainly locals. It’s also a great spot to whale watch. Seriously!

Biking To Treasure Island Beach

We have one last spot that’s a must visit on our tour of Laguna Beach and it’s to see the sunset out over TREASURE ISLAND BEACH in south Laguna. This is one of the best views around and we’re warning you, it will be nearly impossible to resist dipping your toes in the water. We dare you to try and resist.
