Party Time // Bachelor+Bachelorette Party Weekend in Laguna Beach

Bobby and Alli from Traveling Newlyweds here! So you’re engaged, you’re almost done planning, and it’s nearly the big day…

Now the fun begins!! It’s time to round up some of your best friends and head to a beautiful location to celebrate before your life changes forever! And what better spot to have your bachelor or bachelorette party than in Laguna Beach?! We’ve come up with what we think are the perfect itineraries for his and her weekends-to-remember in Laguna!

FOR THE LADIES

Let’s be real. How can you beat a weekend in Laguna with the girls?! It will likely be sunny, 75, and gorgeous regardless of the time of year. Plan on arriving on Friday late afternoon and spending two nights at the charming, recently remodeled CASA LAGUNA HOTEL AND SPA. Casa Laguna is a peaceful, colorful, and chic oasis located right across the street from some beautiful beaches.

DAY 1: Sip on some champagne as the girls arrive. Spend time enjoying the colorful rooms, relaxing in the lush, tropical grounds of the hotel, and getting ready for a fun night out.

Once the crew is ready, step outside and hop on the trolley (there’s a stop right outside the hotel) and head to the ROYAL HAWAIIAN FIRE GRILL. The famed tiki bar is a great spot for cocktails and has a fun vibe where people will for sure be excited for your party. Lapu lapu’s all around?

Next, TROLLEY over to THE DECK for a beautiful oceanfront dining experience! Enjoy dinner and a sunset!

Now time for the best part of the night… dancing and more drinks at SKYLOFT! Take the short walk from the Deck, and dance until your feet hurt! When everybody is ready, hop on the trolley and head back to Casa Laguna to wrap up day one. Unless you’re feeling crazy… in which case maybe stop at MOZAMBIQUE on the way back for more live music dancing festivities. 😉

DAY 2: Wake up, and have some leisurely coffee and light breakfast at Casa Laguna. Then throw on your workout clothes and head to TREASURE ISLAND PARK below The Montage Resort for some YOGA IN THE PARK! (If your crew is not up for yoga, this could be when you indulge in Casa Laguna’s spa treatments?)

After a solid stretch or spa session, you can head back to your rooms to freshen up. Next, catch the trolley to URTH CAFÉ for brunch. Walk off your brunch strolling around the Main Beach area and check out the amazing shops in downtown. Really, this afternoon could be open for laying out on the beach, perusing the SAWDUST FESTIVAL, or shopping.

In the evening, the bride will be enhancing her wine tasting palette with wine tasting at MCCLAIN CELLARS. McClain Cellars Wine Lounge is a true 5-star wine tasting lounge featuring “90 point” wines, live music and a “hip” luxury, modern industrial vibe. (This could be a perfect time to give the bride some fun gifts!) Wrap up the night with a delicious dinner, or you could go for another cocktail at Broadway.

DAY 3: Enjoy another night at Casa Laguna, wake up to the sounds of the ocean, have breakfast together in the courtyard, and bid farewell!

FOR THE DUDES

A bachelor party in Laguna will involve catching some rays at the beach, hitting some balls on the golf course, and bar crawling around the little seaside town.

DAY 1: Arrive late afternoon/early evening at THE RANCH AT LAGUNA BEACH. While you’re waiting for the whole crew, grab drinks at the Harvest bar. Dinner will be authentic Mexican food at CARMELITA’S. After loading up on chips, salsa, and your choice Mexican cuisine, it’s time to tour the best bars of LB. Our personal favorites would include the MARINE ROOM TAVERNHENNESSEY’S, WHITE HOUSE, THE SALOONSANDPIPER, and MOZAMBIQUE. All will have dancefloors, either with DJs or live music. It is up to you on how many of these you visit. A bachelor party is definitely one of those YOLO type nights… so go big!

DAY 2: Sleep in, and then head to Harvest for brunch. If you get anything for the table, be sure to get a Maple & Bacon Cinnamon Roll. Or, After breakfast you will be hitting the links at THE RANCH GOLF COURSE, which is conveniently nestled up right against your hotel! (It is a nine-hole course in arguably one of the most serene spots in Orange County.) The course carves through Aliso Canyon, and you will play to the peaceful sounds of nature, along with however loud and rowdy your crew is.

Once things are wrapped up on the course, it will be time to rinse off in the ocean and hang out on the beach. There are COUNTLESS BEACHES nearby, with Aliso Creek being walkable from the hotel. You could also hop on the trolley and head anywhere!

Laguna Beach Surfing

Guys can’t lay around too long though, so stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) will be a solid late-afternoon activity.

DAY 3: Sleep-in at the Ranch, pack-up, and recap the weekend at Penguin Café, a good greasy spoon style breakfast to wrap things up.

Whether you’re getting ready for your own bachelorette/bachelor party, or your friends, we hope these ideas inspired and motivated you to head to Laguna Beach! Happy planning!
