Fisherman’s Cove Beach

“Fisherman’s,” as residents call it, is the North Laguna version of Table Rock Beach – a local favorite, full of secrets. The beach is just north of Diver’s Cove and south of Shaw’s Cove, separated from both by rocky outcroppings. Though it’s not private, it sort of has that feel – the southern access point passes houses and the residents keep their SUPs (Stand-Up Paddling) and kayaks locked up on the bluffs.

The beach itself is small (and can get really small at high tide), but features one of the most pirate-y caves in the city and some truly astounding sandstone cliffs. The waves break gently closer in and heavier a little further out. With the right swell, this spot gets really popular with body boarders.

If you’re eager for a little seclusion and mellow vibes, this beach is sure to be a hit. Just try to set your stuff high enough on the sand that you won’t have to move everything once the tide starts coming in.

How to Get to Fisherman’s Cove Beach:

The beach at Fisherman’s Cove can be accessed from the north or south, with parking on PCH or in the metered spots on Cliff Drive. At the south end, the bluffs make for one of Laguna’s all-time epic picnic spots. It’s tough to imagine a better way to watch the sunset.

Locals hanging on the sand and couples kissing on the bluffs.

BEST BEACH FOR:

Snorkelers, privacy seekers, and SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding) stars.
